You are cordially invited to a first-hand report and photo slide show on a visit by Canadian Peter Larson to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, October 31 – November 13, 2009. The trip, organized by a British group in conjunction with an Israeli peace organisation, included meetings with Canadian, Israeli and Palestinian representatives of various institutions.

A cross-section of key figures on the front lines

Mr. Larson met with 29 Israeli and Palestinian NGOs, hospital and school directors, student groups, university administrators and political organizations including the Negotiations Unit of the PLO.

Additionally, 2 extra days in Israel allowed Mr. Larson to meet our Ambassador in Tel Aviv, the CBC correspondent in Jerusalem, the Director of UNRWA West Bank Operations and a well known Israeli journalist.

Speaker: Peter Larson Peter has an extensive history of research and consulting in public service management. He has wide experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He specializes in strategic planning, executive development and machinery of government. Organizations he has worked with or consulted to include Public Policy Forum, Canadian Conference Board of Canada, Le Droit, Southam Newspapers and several Federal departments and agencies. He has also worked internationally on projects for the Commonwealth Secretariat and the UNDP. He is a board member of the National Capital Chapter of the Canadian International Council, and serves as the Chair of its Middle East Study Group. Peter graduated in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1968. He also holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina, and obtained a Ph.D. in Political Economy from Université de Grenoble, France. In addition to English, he speaks fluent French and Spanish and passable Italian.
