Priorities and Programs
NCCAR continues to grow while revitalizing our Strategic Priorities and Programs. We are pleased to share with you the output of the board’s recent strategic and action planning initiative.
NCCAR’s Five Strategic Priorities
- Establishing a vision and a plan for financial sustainability.
- Establishing relationships with key Influencers
(Members of Parliament, Senators, federal officials, academics, and community members). - Growing our media capabilities and visibility.
- Educating Canadians and raising awareness on human rights issues in the Arab world.
- Reconnecting and building strong ties with our members.
To translate our strategy into a concrete action plan, we identified five key programs as NCCAR’s focus. In developing our strategy and action plan for this year, we incorporated the “voice of the stakeholder” by reviewing feedback from members and key supporters obtained through formal surveys and meetings.
The following five key programs were identified:

Parliamentary Outreach Program:
NCCAR will focus on communicating with MPs and Senators through parliamentary delegations, meetings, and periodic communication.

Israel/Palestine Educational Committee:
Based on feedback from our members and key supporters,
a special committee dedicated to educating Canadians on the Israel Palestine Conflict has been established. -
Educational and Networking events across Canada:
NCCAR has and will continue to organize lectures and networking events in Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver. In addition, NCCAR will organize webinars that will be available to all Canadians as well as people from across the world.

Youth Internships:
NCCAR will continue our flagship Parliamentary Internships this year; in addition we are currently working on launching a new “Journalism internship”… Stay tuned!

Media Outreach:
NCCAR has and will continue to be a reliable source of information for Canadian Media. NCCAR will focus on providing a periodical media scan for our members. Our Media and Policy Newsletter will take a proactive approach to communicating media and policy analysis to our members and stakeholders. In addition, we will continue to be a main source and point of contact for interviews, and opinion pieces.
